Dear Members of the Constituency of Camp of the Cross Ministries,
The board of directors of Camp of the Cross Ministries met on Saturday, January 14, 2017 and is proposing the following changes to the Constitution. These changes will come before the constituency at the annual meeting that will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Sunne Lutheran Church, Wilton, ND.
Proposed Constitutional Amendment #1
“A constitutional amendment under section VI. Board of Directors of the bylaws to change the minimum number of board members from twelve to a minimum number of board members to nine.”
Proposed Constitutional Amendment #2
“A constitutional amendment to change the clergy requirements under Section VI. Board of Directors of the bylaws from the current requirement of “There shall be a minimum of three (3) clergy on the board” to “There shall be a minimum of two (2) ELCA rostered leaders on the board.”
Proposed Constitutional Amendment #3
“A constitutional amendment to add the following sentence to Section VI. Board of Directors in the bylaws “There may be one (1) member of the board of directors who is not a member of a constituent congregation.”
These proposed changes will be discussed and voted on at the annual meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting. Each constituent congregation may designate three (3) voting members plus their pastor(s) for voting matters. I hope that you will be able to attend the meeting to discuss these matters and hear updates on successes and challenges at Camp of the Cross.
Sincerely,
